Nancy García Loza
Nancy García Loza born in 1984 is the daughter of parents who came to the Chicago area from Jalisco, Mexico. A self-taught playwright, she writes from her own experience and instinct. Her audio drama BRAVA, based on a Mexican folktale received nominations in six categories at the 2019 Alliance of Latinx Theater Artists Awards. Ascent was commissioned by Chicago’s famed Steppenwolf Theater Company and Rust was commissioned by the Goodman Theatre. García Loza has taken part in the national Fornés Playwriting Workshop twice. She identifies as Mexican American…with no hyphen.
